Owner

Even though Cyberdummies was only registered in 2021, we have been crafting our skills online since 2007, while managing WordPress sites since 2017 and DirectAdmin VPSs from 2019. You can therefore rest assured that your managed web services are in good hands!

The Journey

2007

Introduced

Entry into web-hosting

I am introduced to the realm of web-hosting as a reseller through an acquaintance.

2008

Expanded

Completed an "Internet and web design" certificate through Unisa

This taught the basics of the World Wide Web and boy how it has changed!

2009

Expanded

Built my first HTML website

An old friend needed a website and I assisted him using Adobe DreamWeaver.

2011

Assisted clients with basic PC support

Used my experience gained to offer basic PC support and would wind up with 5 or 6 laptops over a weekend.

2017

Registered my first web-hosting company

2019

Started working at a "real" web-hosting company

Getting involved at a web-hosting company who managed their own servers, who could let that opportunity go by? This was the year I got introduced to DirectAdmin host panel.

2021

Registered Cyberdummies Online Solutions (PTY) Ltd

I had a “light bulb” moment and thought that one day I would offer my own online services. I registered the PTY and the domain and shelved it until the last quarter of 2025, when the current business was launched.

2022

Beyond Red Cactus

After Red Cactus was sold in 2022, I continued to manage client sites, providing technical support and site maintenance until now.

2025

Cyberdummies Online Solutions is launched

I packaged all the experience and services into an online business to offer affordable web related services for individuals and SME’s
